Privacy Policy
Bugnook ("we", "us", or "our") operates bugnook.com. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
1. Who is the data controller?
Bugnook is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us at info@bugnook.com.
2. What information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, and message when you reach out via our contact page.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data: we may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that collect aggregate page views and referral sources without tracking individuals across sites or using cookies.
- Server logs: Cloudflare, our hosting provider, automatically records standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and visit time. These are used for security and performance only.
Categories of personal data
The personal data we may hold about you includes: identifiers (name, email address); internet or other electronic network activity information (pages visited, referral source); and communications you send us.
Cookies
Bugnook does not set first-party tracking cookies. Third-party links (such as affiliate product pages) may set their own cookies subject to their privacy policies. Cloudflare may set a security cookie (__cf_bm) for bot protection purposes.
3. How and why we use your information

|---|---|---|

| Understanding aggregate traffic to improve content | Anonymised analytics data | Legitimate interests (site improvement) |
| Detecting and preventing abuse and security threats | Server logs, IP address | Legitimate interests (security) |
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Affiliate links
Some links on Bugnook are affiliate links. When you click them and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. The retailers you visit (such as Amazon) may set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies.
5. Who we share data with
We share your information with as few third parties as possible and only when necessary:
- Cloudflare: hosting, CDN, and security. Cloudflare Privacy Policy ↗
- SMTP2Go: email delivery for contact form replies. SMTP2Go Privacy Policy ↗
- Newsletter provider: stores your email address if you subscribe (provider to be named when selected).
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
6. International data transfers
Our infrastructure (Cloudflare) processes data on servers worldwide, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Cloudflare relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other GDPR-approved transfer mechanisms where applicable. SMTP2Go's data processing is subject to their own transfer safeguards.
7. Data retention
- Contact form messages: retained until we have resolved your enquiry, then deleted.
- Newsletter subscriptions: retained until you unsubscribe.
