Welcome to Bugnook, a warm corner of the internet for people who looked at a jumping spider and thought oh, maybe.
What is this place?
This is a care resource for tiny pets: jumping spiders, isopods, mantises, and the rest of the small-but-fascinating world of invertebrate keeping. Everything here is written from hands-on keeping experience, checked against keepers who’ve been at it longer than we have, and corrected the moment we learn we were wrong.
We’re not vets. We’re not entomologists. We’re keepers who remember being nervous beginners, and we write the guides we wished had existed.
Where to start
If you just found a jumping spider and you’re wondering if you can keep it: yes, probably, and here’s how. Start with the Phidippus regius care guide if you have a regal jumping spider, or browse the beginner guides category for a gentler introduction.
If you’re already keeping and want to know what gear is actually worth the money, head to Gear Reviews.
The house rules
No gatekeeping. No inventing credentials we don’t have. No talking down to beginners. If you ask a basic question, you’ll get a real answer.
